Election Information

The Town Election is coming up. There are elections for Select Board, School Committee, Library Trustee and Town Meeting Members for all 8 precincts. There are important issues before the town and there are clear differences between candidates. There are 4 people vying for 2 Select Board positions. Truthfully, Town Meeting member elections have rarely in the past had more people seeking election than the 6 open positions but this year almost all have more than 6 and some have 9. Please take a look at the candidates and how they represent the Democrat values.

Our own Marilyn Haze l and Phil Bolduc are running for Town Meeting Member. Marilyn is running for re-election in Precinct 6 and Phil Bolduc is a first time candidate for Precinct 2.

Recent attendees of our DDTC meetings, Dee Djoko and Michael Shannon are first time candidates. Dee is running for Select Board. Michael is running for both School Committee and Library Trustee.

After 25 years as Chair for the DanversDems, Marilyn Hazel has decided to take a different role and transition to new leadership. Marilyn has worked tirelessly and with great passion for women’s rights, voting rights, healthcare and all democratic values. Marilyn received a vigorous applause from the well attended meeting.

The following slate of officers were nominated and approved by the committee as required by statute every 4 years..

Co-chairs: Lou Bernazzani and Marilyn Hazel

Vice-chair: Tom Meager

Treasurer: Kasey Desmond

We think this team is a wonderful mix of people with experience and some new energy.  It will bring help in the area of technologically advancing our out-reach. We will have a new look and approach  to advance our commitment to our democratic values.

We had three speakers address the committee:

There was a lively discussion on local issues.

As a result of the discussion, we were not able to specifically address the two topics scheduled for this meeting.
